Improvement Teams
Contractor Improvement Teams are comprised of contractor companies that
provide a particular service and the Chevron personnel that work
with them on a regular basis. The teams were formed in June 2002 and
have been actively discussing issues ever since.
Each team meets on a regular basis (monthly, bi-monthly, or
quarterly) based on the team’s preference. Incidents and observations
are reviewed pertaining to their type of work and a hazard share is
conducted to share near misses and lessons learned. The team identifies
issues to address that are related to Health, Environment and Safety or
operations. Eventually, solutions may be adopted as guidelines or policy
upon the review and approval of Chevron management.
On these teams, contractors are encouraged to share on a regular
basis and to address those issues that they believe will advance our
goal of achieving Incident Free Operations. The teams increase
communication between contractors and the people who hire them. The
following improvement teams are represented:
- Crane Team
- Diving Team
- Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Team
- Transportation Team
- Painting Team
- Welding Team
- Electric Line Team
