Clothing Policy Effective January
2004
A new clothing policy went in effect earlier this year with the
expectation of full compliance by January 1, 2004. This policy applies
to ALL ChevronTexaco and contract personnel (including mechanics,
electricians, operators, facility reps, construction reps, etc.)
while working and/or visiting the facility. Exceptions to the policy
for contractors may be made with approval from the appropriate functional
management personnel. Highlights of this policy include:
- Long sleeve button up shirts and long pants, both of all cotton
natural fibers, are considered the minimum requirements for personnel
clothing.
- Clothing shall be orderly – no holes, tears, loose material
– and appropriately fitting, sleeves rolled down and shirttails
tucked in trousers.
- Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC) is required for all ChevronTexaco
and contractor electricians and automation specialists and they
must follow the information in the ChevronTexaco "Electrical
Safe Work Practice Manual". Please see a ChevronTexaco representative
for more details about this manual.
- FRC may be required where contractors are performing certain
duties that have a higher exposure risk to the likelihood of flash
fires.
- Wearing FRC is optional for all other contractors.
