HES Rating Update April 1, 2005
ChevronTexaco North America Upstream, Exploration & Production Company - Gulf of Mexico Business Unit is committed to ensuring that it maintains an incident free work environment. To that end, ChevronTexaco's GOM Business Units will be making revisions to the way the HES Ratings are calculated effective April 1, 2005. The changes to these calculations are outlined below.
In October 2002, core HES processes were established that feed into your companies overall safety rating. Beginning April 1, 2005 specific core processes will be weighted more heavily than they have in the past. Specifically, if a company does not have or is not in the process of implementing one of the core HES processes listed below, the maximum HES Safety Rating for that company will be a “C”. The “C” rating would not automatically preclude this company from working for ChevronTexaco, however it would require that a mitigation plan be developed prior to any personnel from that company entering a ChevronTexaco facility. The core HES processes are listed below along with the corresponding section and question number in the SCQV. The only acceptable answer to these questions will be an answer of "Yes".
- Job Safety Analysis (JSA) - 11:14
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) - 13:5
- Short Service Employee Program (SSE) - 24.2
- Drug & Alcohol Program - 9:1, 9:11, 9:14, 9:15, 9:16
- Short Service Employee Program - 24:2, 24:3, 24:4, 24:5
- Behavior Based Safety Program (BBS) - 24:7
- Drug & Alcohol Program - 9.1
Drug & Alcohol Program's are required by our master service agreements. If your company falls under DOT, Department of Transportation (RSPA) Pipeline Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations, 49 CFR, Part 199 and Part 40 you must also comply with these requirements. Failure to comply with a governmentally mandated Drug & Alcohol Program will drop your company to an “F” rating and could potentially jeopardize your master service agreement with ChevronTexaco.
