Behavior Based Safety (BBS)
Joint Contractor Symposium Update
The Joint Contractor Symposium BBS sub team is pleased to offer
the first of three workshops designed to improve understanding of
operators BBS expectations. The first workshop is targeted at contractors
that are struggling with development and initial implementation
of their BBS process. This workshop is meant to compliment the basic
BBS requirements agreed on by BP, ChevronTexaco, and Shell during
the Joint Contractor Symposium in September 2004.
Our target audience is safety trainers and/or front line managers
responsible for rolling out and implementing their companys
BBS process. There are six, one day workshops scheduled between
Houston, Lafayette, and New Orleans, between April and June. Seating
is limited to 20 per class with no more than two participants per
company.
Our Training Objectives are to:
- Develop a common understanding of BBS basic requirements
- Help contractors develop their CBI (Critical Behaviors Inventory)
- Train the trainer on the Observation Process
- Train the trainer on Feedback after Observations
Training will be through:
- Lectures
- Hands on group exercises
- Video
- Q and A
